Hotel La Macchia

Located in an enviable natural setting full of beautiful forests of elci and olive groves, the hotel La Macchia is the ideal place for those who want to spend a pleasant stay in contact with nature and for those who want to visit the architectural beauties of the city of Spoleto which is only a couple of miles from ours.

The restaurant serves traditional Umbrian cuisine made with local products such as wild asparagus, truffles and mushrooms. Among the not-to-be-missed recipes: grilled lamb, handmade strangues, bruschetta seasoned with oil from the surrounding hills and delicious pizza cooked in a wood-burning oven. The restaurant has two rooms, one for banquets and receptions, and one, called Osteria del Trenino, set up inspired by the history of the former Spoleto-Norcia railway, with wooden seats recovered from abandoned coaches. During the summer it is possible to organize outdoor buffets and banquets, immersed in the splendid Umbrian landscape.

The Osteria del Trenino is a typical Umbrian trattoria that collects extensive documentation on the history of the former Spoleto-Norcia Railway: a railway line that laps the boundaries of the hotel. A special set-up, made with wooden seats recovered from the old disused carriages, welcomes guests in a warm environment.
