MTB ON MONTE CUCCO
COD. 100 / Weekend for experts among the beautiful paths of the Park
The natural park of Monte Cucco, on the border between Umbria and Marche, is located in the heart of the central Apennines and is an ideal place for lovers of Mtb. Mounts immersed in the green, single track, long climbs, technical descents and panoramas will be ideal for those who want to have fun in Mtb and, perhaps, prepare some important Gran Fondo away from the summer heat, following the gps tracks of the many routes that inside the park.
All surrounded by unspoiled nature and a few kilometers from historic towns and villages such as Costacciaro, Gubbio, Fossato di Vico, Gualdo Tadino, Scheggia, Sigillo, where your families can spend pleasant days while you are cycling.
Two days of Mtb (with the possibility of lengthening the stay on request) dedicated to lovers of “fat wheels” more experienced, who want to train on challenging and fun routes. The first day you will cycle along the GF Monte Cucco itinerary, characterized by the long ascent that leads to the summit and the breathtaking views that you can enjoy during the ascent. Downhill then guaranteed fun taking advantage of the many single tracks that report downstream. The second day the route develops on the hills between the park and Gubbio, full of slope changes and fun passages.
A weekend dedicated to the most experienced and trained bikers, who in this corner of Umbria will find routes and scenarios that have little to envy to those of the Alps. A short holiday to enjoy with your group of friends, to ride with friends, or with your family, that while you are cycling will relax in the pool, visit the villages and cities of art that are within a few kilometers, or enjoy a nice walk through the park’s paths.

Coming from the north (Milan, Florence), the best exit on the A1 motorway is Valdichiana, from which the SS75bis highway enters in Umbria from Lake Trasimeno. After Perugia you can take the new SS318var up to Fossato di Vico, from where you can reach Costacciaro and Monte Cucco in just a few minutes. Coming from the south (Rome), again via the A1 motorway, the best exit is that of Orte, and then continue on the SS204 (towards Terni) first, and the E45 superstrada, from Terni Perugia. From here you always follow the SS318var. Driving along the A14 motorway, you should exit at Fano and then continue on the SP3 towards Gubbio until Pontericcioli.
